Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: April 25, 2026
This page explains how to request deletion of personal data that Kazozo, Inc. ("Kazozo") holds about you, including data obtained when you or your business connects a third-party account — such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or other Meta platforms — to a Kazozo agent.
For our full description of how we collect, use, and protect data, see the Privacy Policy.
1. What this covers
Kazozo holds two kinds of personal data that you can ask us to delete:
- Account data — name, email, billing details, and any content you submitted through the Kazozo product or website.
- Connected-platform data — when a Kazozo customer connects an Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or similar account to power features like the Engagement Inbox, we ingest signals such as public mentions, comments, direct-message metadata, contact handles, and page or business identifiers. We use this data only to operate the connected feature for that customer; we do not sell it and do not use it for advertising.
2. If you are an end user (you commented, messaged, or interacted with a Kazozo-powered account)
If you do not have a Kazozo account but a Kazozo customer's connected Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn account has captured your information through ordinary platform interaction (a comment, mention, or DM), you can request deletion of that data in either of two ways:
Option A — Email request
- Email privacy@kazozo.com with the subject line
Data Deletion Request. - Include the platform (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), your handle or username on that platform, and — if you remember it — the name or handle of the business whose account interacted with you.
- We will verify your control of the handle (typically by asking you to reply from a verifiable address or to send a one-time confirmation from the account in question), then delete the requested data within 30 days.
- We will email you a confirmation when deletion is complete, including a confirmation code you can retain.
Option B — Remove the source
You can also remove our access at the source by deleting the underlying comment, message, or mention from your platform of origin. When the originating object is deleted on the platform, Kazozo's stored copy is purged on its next reconciliation cycle (within 7 days).
3. If you are a Kazozo customer (you have a Kazozo account)
You can take the following actions yourself from your Kazozo dashboard:
- Disconnect a platform integration at Integrations → [platform] → Disconnect. Disconnection immediately stops further ingestion and queues deletion of all stored signals from that connection within 30 days.
- Delete individual records from the Engagement Inbox, CRM, or other surfaces using the standard delete actions in the UI.
- Close your Kazozo account by emailing privacy@kazozo.com from your registered address. Account closure triggers deletion under the timelines in Section 9 of our Privacy Policy.
4. Meta-specific deletion (Instagram & Facebook)
If you previously authorized Kazozo to access your Instagram or Facebook account, you can revoke that access directly with Meta — Kazozo's stored data for that connection is then deleted automatically:
- Open Meta Accounts Center → Apps and websites (or, on Facebook: Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and websites).
- Locate Kazozo in the list of authorized apps.
- Click Remove. Meta will notify Kazozo of the removal via the data deletion callback.
- Within 30 days, Kazozo deletes all data ingested through that connection. You will be redirected to our confirmation page with a unique confirmation code you can retain.
Data Deletion Callback URL (for Meta App Review):
https://api.kazozo.com/api/meta/data-deletion
This endpoint accepts Meta's signed deletion notifications, returns a confirmation URL of the form https://kazozo.com/data-deletion-status.html?code={code}, and triggers asynchronous deletion of all data tied to the affected user ID across Kazozo systems.
5. What we cannot delete
Some records may be retained for limited purposes even after a deletion request:
- Billing and tax records — retained for up to 7 years to meet legal accounting obligations.
- Security and audit logs — retained for up to 12 months in tamper-evident form to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- Aggregated, de-identified data — that cannot reasonably be re-associated with you may be retained for product analytics.
- Data we are legally required to preserve — for example, in response to a valid legal hold.
6. Verification & timelines
To protect against fraudulent deletion requests, we will verify your identity or control of the relevant account before processing. Verification methods are proportionate to the sensitivity of the request.
Standard timeline: acknowledgement within 5 business days, completion within 30 days of a verified request. Where applicable law (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) requires a shorter timeline, we comply with that.
7. Questions or escalations
For questions about this process, write to privacy@kazozo.com. If you are unsatisfied with our response, EEA/UK residents may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority; California residents may contact the California Privacy Protection Agency.
